High teperature rotary seal 2

Hi engineers,

I am looking for a rotary seal to prevent hot gas from exiting the gas pass through the clearance of the stator vanes. The vanes can rotate (they are actually nozzle guided vanes). The working temperature is 500 C and the pressure difference is 5 bar. the rotation speed is less than 20 RPM. The shaft diameter is about 2 cm.

most of the commercial seals have max operating temperature of 300 C. Please tell me if there are some commercial high temperature seals and their suppliers.

You should contact a mechanical seal vendor and explain to them what you have. This will certainly be a heavily engineered solution due to the temperatures.

I'm not aware of any elastomers that will work at 500C (or above 300C really, that's what the limit is based on) so it would have to be some sort of dry gas seal, but the low RPM's make that difficult.
