high yield steel

hey everybody, we are looking for a grade of steel in round bar that can achieve 230 ksi yield and aroud 300 on the brinell, it seems as if the 41 and 43 series won't get what i need
anybody got any ideas?

D-6A 250ksi
A6, W1, O2 - all over 230 ksi
H-11 240 ksi
18-Ni Maraging/300-M ~ 245 ksi
4340 270 ksi

If all you want is 230 ksi YS and a comparable hardness, most untempered med-hi C steels would suffice. Surely there must be other requirements you haven’t told us about. E.g., what are you making? what size bar, do you want toughness, fatigue, what environment, is it for production, what cost, etc.? Give us more info and we’ll give you better ideas.

Incidentally a 230 ksi YS should be way over your stated 300 BHN; probably over 500 as well.

Here is a commodity product, Flexor, that will come close. Though I haven't personally used this material I've received some good reports on it's use.
