Hole callout, hole not selectable ? 1

Hi All,

I've tried to dimension a hole with M6 treath with hole callout (dimension, radial, hole callout). The thing is that i can't select anything.

Attached the file it's stand alone file.

Tried it in NX11_Beta ( I don't have NX10 ) and for me it works on your part without changing anything...
How are you creating the hole callout?

There is an existing IR for this on Gtac for NX 10.0.1.4 MP2

Siemens PLM believes that the problem you reported where Unable to create Hole callout dimension on a threaded hole will be resolved by code changes made to the release of our product NX version 10.0.3

I had no problem with NX 10.0.2.6 Check you selection filter possible?

The selection filter is set to: "no selection filter, entire assembly"

What settings can be done te resolve this issue ?


The thing is that i'm in the radial, hole callout command and can not select the hole with the selection filter as above ?

Make sure your master part is fully loaded. Also look out for the holes being part of a pattern

Also make sure your views are updated. If you have a pattern, the pattern method should be set to variational.

I've done all that's mentioned. Still the following is posible:
1. I can dimension a hole with a radial--> diameter (i.e. I can select it like when normal dimensioning)
2. I can not dimension the same hole with the setting on radial-->hole callout. (I can't select the same line/hole as above)

I didn't touch the filter settings between the two steps. Also the drawing was up to date (green checkmark)

????

While you're on the subject ...
How exactly do you make it "fully loaded"? I've run across the threaded hole callout problem in NX 9.0 where it gives either the message that "the part containing the feature must be fully loaded", or the alert that "Creating a Hole Callout requires feature data to be fully loaded". Searching NX Help brings up a bunch of references to "fully loading" the part, but never an explanation of how to do it. And, btw, is it the solid model, or is it the drawing that is being refered to as the "part"? I figure I must be missing something basic!

In the assembly navigator, when you right click on a component that is not fully loaded, you will have the option of "open -> component fully". Also, whenever you right click on a component and choose "make display part", it will be fully loaded.

If you do not want to use partial loading, you can turn it off in your assembly load options (file -> options -> assembly load options... => scope section -> use partial loading). Also note that there is a "use partial loading" option on the "file -> open" dialog.

Have you, or anyone else, ever seen the case where Radial Dimension: Hole Callout seems to need to be "kick-started" into realizing that the component already IS fully loaded?

To the best of my current knowledge, that is correct.

I very rarely get to use the hole feature/radial callout so I can't really comment on their quirks. Hopefully someone else has a better answer.

I recently found that hole callout doesn't work on mirrored geometry. Could this be the case?
