Having some minor brain fade trying to setup tapped holes. Can't seem to locate a "thru" or "up to plane" type of option for the thread depth.

In the meantime, I have been setting the thread depth to equal the part thickness when the hole is to be tapped through. A bit kludgy and does not update if the material thickness is later changed...

I'm sure it's right in front of my face, but can't see the forest for the trees... ;/

Thanks

you could just set it much longer than the part thickness. like if you have a 2" plate, make your hole depth 5" and tap depth 5"

then if you have slight thickness changes it won't matter

Tried that approach, and it was not allowed... ;/

There is no option for "thru or "up to plane" for thread depth, only for extension.

What you could do is RQ over thread depth, edit formula,
then select this line "PartBody\Hole.1\HoleLimit.1\Depth "
this will link the thread depth to the extension depth.

That seems like a good workaround, thanks for the tip!
