Looking for any info about hollow core copper conductors used as a 240kv transmission conductor. We seem to have one or maybe even two styles of hollow core conductor in our system and I am interested in learning more about them. One of the conductors has an outer stranded copper layer over a copper clad layer then has a I beam type of helex rolling thru the center of it. What should you use to splice out a damaged area, dead end it to a structure and what kinds of grips would one use on a this type of conductor? Another type that might also be in the system has a copper layer followed by hollow strands under that layer then has a reenforced stranded core like 795 Mallard. Any info anyone could provide would be great.
