Hi All,

I am in the selection of a horizontal pressure vessel for water treatment purpose. It is having a strainer plate for handling some media with stay bar support. Now i am facing a problem of maximum pitch consideration. As per UG47, maximum pitch is the greatest dist. bet. any set of parallel straight lines passing through centers of staybolts in adjacent rows".

Now in my case i have a stay bar support on one line and in horizontal parallel line there is no support, i have a stay bar not on the central line of the above one. It is in some angle. So my question is can this be considered in pitch consideration or i need to consider the stay bar in the next horizontal parallel line and the same centre line??

Is the strainer plate actually a pressure-retaining part where it needs to be supported like that?
