Hi All,

I have a very weird shaped static part at the moment which I am going to try to make one part to move in two axis "X" and "Z". Basically lets just say my design is an L shaped one. I am thinking of either making one of them move in two directions while the other stays the same. Can anyone suggest any existing designs with motors and buttons to control that I can look at to give me an idea. This is just for my microscope projector table which fits inside some housings. I am just google researching at the moment and looks very exciting to see all the possible design solutions.

Just thought will put it in eng-tips to see some interesting designs. I don't have too much to spend so anything cheap and automated recommendations will be great.

Regards

V

var10, not really clear what you're trying to do. Take a look at places like Thorlabs & Newport Optics and generally google XY microscope stanges & Z stages etc. and you should find lots of ideas.

For more input you may need to post a sketch better detailing your question.

Posting guidelines faq731-376 (probably not aimed specifically at you)

Hi Kenat,

Thanks for your suggestion. That was something like I wanted except mine will have everything enclosed so I just need to somehow make the enclosure move too. Thanks again. Now I am going to work on the mechanism in Solidworks to come up with some concepts.

Cheers.
