Horizontal Reactions from ETABS Load Export

Good morning team,

Quick question - When exporting wind and seismic loads from ETABS into SAFE, along with the vertical reactions, imported nodes also have horizontal (base shear) reactions attached to them.

My question is:

1)Do these horizontal (in-plane) applied forces affect the slab design?
2)Is there a way to export vertical loads only from ETABS or is there an easy way to remove the horizontal forces from the nodes in SAFE?

1- yes it will affect the design of the slab since Safe takes into account the principal moment in each direction M11 or M22, the torsional moment M12 and the axial forces (compression or tension) if any in the slab. The reinforcement displayed by Safe is calculated based on the above stresses.

2- One method is by checking the 2D plate in advanced modeling options, the horizontal forces are not taken into account. Another method is selecting the nodes and editing the horizontal forces in the interactive data base. It is also very simple and fast

Chekre - thanks for the quick reply.

In your opinion, does it make sense to keep these horizontal forces in the SAFE model since they will technically exist in the real actual condition?

U are designing a foundation or a suspensed slab ?

Excuse me very much for interference!
As dear Chekra said, M11, M22, M21 and tension or compression affects on slab design. the horizontal loads affects on slab designs only when it transform to a moment on slab. Considering the height of horizontal loads and transforming it to moment can't be calculated in safe. it is calaculated in etabs or sap2000 and is exported to safe.
