Hi All,

I want to have a column named owner in the Assembly and part navigator coming up automatically.. I dont want to manually add a column. I know that it can be done thru right clicking on properties in the popup when right clicked on ANT. I want to push these setting to over 100 machines.. so want an automated procedure.. any suggestions...

You can add an attribute to your files, called "DB_PART_NAME" for example, and then you right click on the top title bar of the ANT and find columns>configure, near the bottom of that panel there is a space where you can type the name of an attribute that you want to add. Type "DB_PART_NAME" and then it will be at the bottom so you'll need to drag it up to wherever you want it to be ordered.

I think the configuration of and the options set in the various Navigators are saved in the registry, which does NOT mean that they can't be shared with others, just that it's not a very easy or always safe thing to do.

Obviously I now realize that I explained what you know already and don't necessarily want to hear.

You could just tell the users what and to do and how to do it. There are not a few places that I have seen this simple method work effectively.

The only time that I would effectively use registry setting may be if I were ghosting install profiles for new machines. Note how we all just assume you're windows based, our bad if you're not.

Hi Guys,

I knew about John`s option of editing in the registry. I agree to the fact that it is not advisable. Iam curious to know how does NX control these settings.. Is there no piece of code which records these settings.. If anyone can point me on that direction it would great help me..

Dave,

I'm pretty sure it isn't saved in a role I've been going between machines and having to set up the columns from each to the next. Do I remember which order I load the role and make the navigator changes? No! But have you heard of a guy called Murphy?
