Hi, I try to work on biomechanics of skull in Abaqus. I got CT images of skull, and then i converted images to 3D model in 3D slicer software, i exported it as .stl file and i load it to blender software to smooth and fix skull's parts. I exported it as .dxf file but abaqus use .dxf file as 2D model. So I have no idea about how can i load this .stl/.dxf file to abaqus as 3D model for stress analysis. Are there anyone to help me about it? Which steps i should follow??

You can import stl file using Plug-ins —> Tools —> STL Import. Formats such as iges or step are better for FEA but stl should be enough too.

It was easier way than i tried :) it worked. Thank you. @FEA way

If you can, figure out a way to convert the STL to a CAD geometry. This will give you control and flexibility over strategies to discretize the geometry with various element types. Otherwise, you will be stuck with what you have and there will be a price to pay. Either way, there is a law of conservation of pain at play - either accept the pain up front or take the easy way out and pay for the convenience later on.
