How do I apply loads to only one si

How do I apply loads to only one side of a pin hole? The surfaces that come in with my geometry when I import a step file don’t line up on either side of the hole, but rather top and bottom. The pin hole I am analyzing has a force pushing to the left, but I am not able to represent that with the surfaces available, because it simulates “pulling” one side of the hole and pushing the other. Is there an easy way to split the surface, or a different load application technique?

1) Create points near place where you want to split surface. Use Modify->Brake Curve and then split sutface via meshing toolbox - point to edge.
2) Or apply loads directly to mesh nodes.

apply loads to elements (assuming you've meshed it).
