Using ANSI dim std in a Solidworks 2005 dwg, I'm trying to figure out how to rotate the foot of a datum symbol to attach to a vertical surface (only seems to be able to be attached to a horizontal surface).

You should be able to just grab it and attach it to the surface you want. Turn your filters on for GDT if you have problems grabbing the datum symbol.

Thanks automationbabe - I didn't realize that the line I was selecting had no thickness (was not actually a plane).
