I have created a block, leader "black dot" and "base origin" on the top of each other and located where I want it (within the block)

How do I "snap on" this "base origin" (of the block) to a point on the view ??

The point on the view was created on the view as a midpoint on the line, which in turn was "snaped on" the ends of "edges of solid model".

I want the location to be acurate (snap on) not just "approximately" positionned.

(Actually the block came from ACAD dwg, part of machine, which I want to show on the SW assy dwg)

Another thing - when trying to locate the block on the view and - before clicking OK, I click double cross red button, the block (or its ghost) REMAINS - the only way to "erase" it is to HIDE then SHOW the view.

I don't think you can blame the video card on it - to me it simply looks like another bug in SW.

When I said "SW is NOT very user friendly" I also ment - it's verrrrry bugggy ....

I don't follow what you mean?

"Another thing - when trying to locate the block on the view and - before clicking OK, I click [red]double cross red button[/red]"

What are you talking about?

If something is still there Or a ghost, then that is a graphic card or driver issue. Your fix for this is simpilier then that. If you Ctrl-Q, Refresh the screen, Minimize and maximize SW will probably fix it. Your at home video card is not support in green by SW. It has limitations. If your seeing this on your Work computer then you need to specify your Driver version. Using the wrong version and cause things lie this to happen.

I don't think it's very buggy at all. And I do Tech support all day long for SW, and most of the time it's the user that is causing the problem and not SW.

Have you checked to make sure you have 2D emulator turn off in your Add-ins?

I didn't need all that information. I just wanted to know what station - "Home" or at "Work" and what the driver version was. You listed which station was using which card.

Anyway,

That driver is not supported by SW, and you should be using the 53.03 Certified driver.

Holly cow - our IT installed a wrong video driver !

Not done much testing, but already discovered, that on drawing view I can locate a dwg point on a line that belongs to the BLOCK. Before it was MISSION INPOSSIBLE !!

Thanks folks !!

- When I made a TEST BLOCK (4 lines, kina square) and attached the base point to an end of the line (actually a corner) and then go back to a view and insert it, it's O.K.
Then when trying to manouver the TEST BLOCK on the view, the base point lights up and shows as a green square dot. No problem to position it to say an end of a line drawn on a view. It SNAPS ON

- now, I have a REAL BLOCK which was about 308 kb file in AutoCAD and was COPY from AUTOCAD and PASTE into SW. The SW dwg file increased from some 3 Mb to about 5 Mb. I have positioned the base point where I want it during REAL BLOCK edit. However after puting it on the view and subsequent selecting of the REAL BLOCK the green square dot does not show up and also SNAP to an end of a line drawn on view does not work.

- Did I improperly imported the stuff from AutoCAd and this is why it does not work properly,

or

it's because the REAL BLOCK is kina BIG ???
