Hi
I have been given a set elevations to sort out
and the drawings are a mess!
The elevations show decorative railings drawn with splines and arcs.
the problem is that most of these have between 3 to 8 duplicate identical lines one on top of the other.
I guess from enthusiastic use of "copy selection".
Hence a file showing four elevations coming in at 12.5MB!
Does anyone have any ideas about the fastest and simplest way to clear these away to leave just one line in each instance (and there are many instances).
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Kindest Regards,
Chris

Hold down the CTRL when you make a selection in an area that has a lot of elements close to or on top of each other. This will turn the CYCLE on. Once you click the left mouse button to make a selection, the first line will turn into a dotted or dashed line so you know that is the one that is currently selected. Release the CTRL button and keep pressing the left mouse button to cycle through all of the surrounding objects. Once you get the line you want to select, press the space bar (or ENTER works too I think) and you will select that particular line and the handles will appear. You can now delete or do whatever you would normally do.

If you have access to Map, you can use the 'Drawing Cleanup' utility.

if you have express tools,

"overkill" on command line

express -> modify -> delete duplicate objects

follow promts.
