How do you setup a title block to update on all prints if original is changed?

We want to have one prt file control all other files that call out that part file so that if we adjust (as an example) the spelling on the original it updates all 3,554 prints that reference the original.

The way we are doing it now is using "IMPORT" which does not do a mass change. We are also using the TeamCenter environment and a native environment if that makes a difference.

Any help would be appreciated!!

If you import using Assemblies it sounds to me like it should do what you want.

You need to create a pattern. And use it on all drafts.

Awesome! I'll have to try using an assembly and I'll let you know how it goes!

But if I do go with Patterns, is there any way to store this data inside of TeamCenter instead of a local directory?

Thanks!!

Yes you can store them inside TCE just like any other files. They are nothing but ug prt files, nothing special about them. Only diff is they have pattern data saved in them. Thats it.

The assembly way is what we are using. Using master model method we have a default drawing that has our title block info as part of an assembly. Everytime we update it the title block updates. It worked perfectly until NX8 and then we have some attribute issues we are trying to figure out.

These are all great tips! Thanks for the advice guys!!
