I've used Plane42 many times over the years, but I never heard of an "isfile" command. A search in ANSYS 12.1 Help turns up no instances. You'll need to be more specific about what you are trying to do.

Dear kan123
I'm using ANSYS 9.0 and in this version PLANE42 is capable of initial stress. The problem is that isfile command does not work.I have done everything exactly like ansyshelp.

Hi, isfile is an undocumented command and it does not exist in Ansys help manual after v.10 but you can use the command.
This is an example which you can read the initial stress values at the center of elements from geost.ist file

isfile,read,geostr,ist,,0

OK, I pulled up the Help program for 9.0. Have you tried the sample problem listed in Section 2.6.13.2 just to verify that it is working right on your platform? If the sample problem doesn't work, then you need to get IT or ANSYS, Inc. involved to fix the bug.

OK.But I mean that what notes & options in ANSYS should I perform before using isfile command?
In the other word, the way of using isfile command??
