Hello everyone,

Could somebody help me explaining how the element size is measured?
For example, in Creo Simulate has the option to put in the element size, I know when you decrease the size your mesh will refine. But how this size is measured?
I've looking for about this issue, and I found an imagem that shows a circle around the triangle (element) and the radius of this circle is the element size, is it correct?

Thanks in advance!

Unless you manually specify the nodes, the preprocessor will automatically mesh it, with the closest size possible, to your size specification and also based on other settings and geometry.
For a tet, the size could be the same edge lengths with the dimension you specify. Maybe you can measure this using a simple cube and meshing it with tets, specify a size and then measuring the distance between the nodes of an element. If that is close to your specification, then its not the circle method, or maybe a sphere is more appropriate for a tet element.

Thanks stressebookllc for your attention!
Do you know any literature about this?
