I'm designing a 14 home water distribution system for a subdivision. It's a 50gpm well feeding into a tank house. Pressure, storage, and Cl contact time will be accomplished using two 1400 gallon pressure tanks operated in series.

I plan to inject sodium hypochlorite into the system prior to the pressure tanks. Any idea how much Cl solution I can expect to go through? The owner will likely lease a small injector pump from his chemical supplier. I'm trying to figure out how big of a storage tank he'll need for a 30 or 60 day supply. I need 1 mg/l free.

Just looking for an approximate educated guess.

Thanks,
Doug

got any iron, manganese, or sulfur? they can multiply your demand

Dont forget ammonium! It eats chlorine 10:1, so even a 0.1ppm makes a big difference to your chlorine demand
