Hello,

I am trying to calculate simply supported 1D beam with fixed end on both sides subjected to U.D.L. Now according to analytical formula stress = M/Z , where M = Wl^2/12 at suppports and M = Wl^2/24 in middle and Z = bh^2/6 in case of elasticity and Z = bh^2/4 in case of plasticity for rectangular cross section. But abaqus shows less stress when it becomes elastic plastic where analytical calculation of beam shows more stress after crossing elastic limit. May I know what I am doing wrong here?

I do use true stress and true for analytical calculations ? is it because length of the beam includes strain from both ends at top which is in tension and compression in middle. I tried still stress seems far far higher than abaqus results. Please help me with this small assignment. Thanks in advance.
