I need to adjust the preload on new axle kingpin bearings. I've seen a lot of eBay and Amazon listings selling generic foil under the title "shim" and it's a lot cheaper than purpose made shim stock. How risky is it to use this stuff? I've bought brass foil and was going to use that but am a little worried:

Hi Greg, I was just trying to be more clear, the kingpin bearings are part of the front axle.
