Hi all,

In my research I supposed to use CAX4P (Axisymmetric pore prerssure elements) and CAX4.

Would you someone please explain about the above element and How can I assign permeability to that element???(permeability is strain dependent) and aslo solid volume fraction?

I knew that I should assign them but I donno how??

I am stuck at this point, please help me

Thanking you,

Krishna

If you are using Abaqus/CAE, it is done through following steps:

1) Create an axisymetric part.

2)Create a material model. You shall assign permeability and void ratio in this step. Just double click on "Materials" section in the model tree and then go to "Other"-->"Permeability"

3)Create a section. Go to "Sections"-->"Solid"-->"Homogeneous" in the model tree.

4)Assign the section to your part by selecting "Parts"-->"Section Assignments"

5)Now open the dependent mesh section under the "Parts" and double click "Mesh(empty)". There you shall assign the element type to CAX4P. Then seed the mesh and select the type of meshing. You shall use quad meshing because CAX4P elements only work with them.

I hope this helps. If you do not use CAE, you can do everything I've explained using keywords in the input files. Just use ABAQUS help to find the Keywords and how to use them.

Ulas
