How to change default font in drafting?

I have been trying to change the default font from blockfont to ideas_century in drafting. I have tried changing it in the customer default and I tried modifying the ugii_env_ug.dat with no luck, it keeps defaulting to blockfont. Any suggestions?

Did you restart NX after changing the customer defaults? Changing the customer defaults will only affect newly created (from the blank template) parts. Do you use a template part for new files? If so, you will also have to change the preference in the template file.

I did restart but I am using templates. Do I need to create new templates?

You just need to edut the settings in the default files.

We had this a while ago when we first switched from Ideas. Set everything up as you want it in the Customer Defaults and then open up each template file and click Preferences > Annotation > Load All Defaults. Save and close, and the next time you create a drawing from that template the defaults should be applied.

To update the style of existing drawings, open them and do the same Preferences > Annotation > Load All Defaults and then highlight all the dimensions you want to change and in the Style dialog box click Load All Defaults.

To add on to JHTH

In drafting
File > Utilities > Character Fonts

Replace blockfront with ideas_century make sure that you have done the defaults location otherwise the font will be incorrectly numbered.

NX sees fonts as number so you want F1 to be ideas_century the default font.
