Hi Gents,

Please see figure below. I have a shell model, the top part includes mid-side nodes, while bottom part is meshed without mid-side nodes. This is a test model. At the interface between parts there are edges with nodes.

Is there any option to connect those edges in bonded-like manner? Please let me know how, I will appreciate APDL approach.

Thanks for article. These are my observations:

a) Element merging is possible only when elements are "identical in all aspects".
b) Node merging would merge corner nodes, leaving mid-side node without any support, while it should be rather degenerated so mid-side node would get inactive. Not mentioning that corner nodes must be aligned and not randomly located, which is very impractical for geometries other than test-model.

In the end, NUMMRG does not work for this unfortunately.
