How to Create Strings in MSC Adams

Hello everyone!

I am trying to create a pulley model with strings in MSC Adams. The strings should slack at a certain point in the simulation. I have tried making this using the 'Cables' option in 'Machinery'. However, the cables are not slacking and I am not able to achieve the desired results.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Which method of modelling are you using? I think you need to use discrete to get slack.

Hi Greg!

Thanks for the tip. I can make the string slack now.

I have a follow-up question. I want to wrap the string around the pulley before it reaches the endpoint instead of the string going directly to the endpoint. I have attached an image for reference.

Any idea how to go about this?

Sorry, no I haven't used /machinery. Might be worth a look at youtube for inspiration.
