I seemed to have kicked off a little debate in work. I have a shaft/cylinder part where some internal features need to be dimensioned. I run a section through the entire cylinder, but an engineer said that it's incorrect. He said that running a section through a cylinder goes against convention and the standard. The engineer said he thought the features should be dimensioned against the hidden lines.
Can I get some advice on what the standard is when dimensioning features inside a shaft?
