Hi All,

Can someone tell me how to display the thickness of a 2D shell mesh in NX Nastran post-processing?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi
I don't know what you mean by "NX Nastran post-processing". But if it is Femap try View-Advanced Post - Contour Model Data - Check "Show Model Data Contour" - Select "Plane Element Thickness"

Good Luck

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

Sorry for the confusion.
I mean to display a 2D shell mesh like a 3D body with its actual thickness. Is it doable?

Hi

I don't know. I am not familiar with that post processor.

Hi again

If you are working with Femap, try View - Options - Element Orientation Shape - Show Fiber Thickness.

I suppose it may be Femap you are using [smile].

Many thanks, Thomas.
Currently, I'm using Simcenter. And I'm going to study Femap.

in SimCenter, for the 2d mesh collector of interest: Edit Display, tick the 2D display option

Thanks, JBlack68
It works only in pre-processing. I can't find this option in post-processing when I check the result.
