I am trying to use a diamond-tip engraving tool to drag engrave some hardened materials. Does anyone have a suggestion of what to use to get NX to generate a good toolpath (E.G. fixed contour, flowcut, etc.)? Also, NX didn’t like it when I tried to assign the tool a diameter of zero, but the tool really does taper down to a point. Thanks,
John

Use a tool with a 45 deg tip angle, a ball end mill or even a drill

You can use the PLANER_TEXT operation to engrave a note.

If you are following some set of curves then use planeer mill and make boundaries from the geometry. set the tool position to on.

If the geometry is contoured use the CONTOUR_TEXT operation.
