Hi,

I was not sure wether this is a Patran- or Nastran problem. Since I think it depends on the Nastran output preferences I posted it in this subforum.

To my problem:
I have a closed-cross-section shell modell and apply a torsional moment on one end. the other end is fixed. I perform a static analysis with NASTRAN 2008 and ask for a xdb-output which is properly delivered.

Now I access my results via the xdb-file in patran 2008. the next thing i wanna do is look at the nodal rotations. but there is no possibilities to choose this result entity. I can only choose the translations for a quick plot, deformation etc.

How can I display the rotations?

I couldn't find them in the output-request for the load case. Do I need to output the results as op2? I remember that I was already performed an analysis. I received to output values for the displacements:
"displacement, translational",
"displacement, rotational".
How did I do this ;) ?

THis is a stupid thing of Patran.

You need, in Patran, in the access results menu, click on translation parameter and check rotational nodal results.

and then you import your results.

Should work.
