I have a complex model. I want to select the faces/edges within a volume which I make over the existing model.
For example, in the existing model, i want to create a hollow cylinder and then i want to select all the faces/edges which falls within the boundary of this hollow cylinder.
Any help is appreciated.

There was selection using a seed face, but I will have to find where that is.
Another way to do it is make the internal faces a different color, and filter that color when selecting.
Any easy way to change the color of those internal faces in in the model tree. RMC on feature [Shell] -> assign feature color

Don't forget to specify what version of NX you are on.

In NX12 * there is a selection method to select using a 3D box. ( Not cylinder, box only)
* always note the NX version.
You might need to enable that button to see it.
note that you probably need to toggle the Highlight hidden edges and Allow selection of hidden wireframe.

select button, select something not necessary to be selected for the initial box size, then drag /resize the selection box, and possibly set a selection filter to the type of object .

Tomas

Thanks a lot for the input.

Is there any circular selection tool like Rectangle & Lasso selection tool?

I am using NX 9.0

NX12 has circles as selection option. ( don't know when it was introduced, NX10 hasn't.)
