I'm using NX12. I would like to know it it posible to link an engraving text to the part name through atributes, etc. I attached an JPG file as an example: Part name: 26231-3.prt, then I want the engraving the same reference. It's posible do it automatically? In thi way I want to avoid posible mistakes.

In my template I have the following attibute for part name: <W@$SH_PART_NAME>

I don't think there is but I am going to play with this when I get a chance, and see if I can make it work. It certainly would be helpful.

Indeed, it is really useful, at least for me, I have to do 1000, each with its engraving, the engraving is the name of the piece.
I want to avoid mistakes in the engraving, those 1000 pieces have to be manufactured.
I have tried in several ways, I have managed to change the text, but assigning it the variable of the system date, I understand that if the name of the piece could be linked with a variable, I know it would be possible.
good luck and thank you very much

The "ug_AskCurrentWorkPart" function will pull the part name into a text expression. If you search this forum, there are several examples. Once you have this text expression, you can reference it in the text command. Note that if/when the part name changes, it will require an "update for external change" to update the expression value.

I do not see how it is possible to link the text curves to an expression

When you turn on the "reference text" option, the expression button becomes active; when you press the expression button, you can select an existing string expression (or create a new one) to reference.

When using the text curves as the basis for a feature (such as an extrude), use the "feature curves" selection intent option - this way as the text changes, the input curves will update automatically.
