Dear all,
For my research, I needed to make some 3d ellipsoid type model and analyze for different conditions.
I have the radii available in 2 planes, XY and YZ. I need to make surface with these two radii.
Sweep/extrude option doesn't work as it needs a solid sketch in XY plane and sweep path is defined in XZ plane (NOT in YZ PLANE).
1. I am wondering whether it is possible to make surface with two radii in Abaqus ? if yes how?
2. Do I look for CAD modeling software ProE/Catia to model the same ?
I have an idea of making sphere and then all x-coordinates of the sphere to be extended in X-direction sothat it matches to one radius, similarly in z-direction to get another radius.
3. My question is, whether this can be done on the GUI or not?
I tried to do this, but scaling option is available for whole object but not in individual x or y or z directions in GUI. or is there any other way to do this in input file or with python script ?
If you imagine the 3D picture of my object, it appears to be a part of ellipsoid-one radius in plane and other radius in other plane. Please find an attached figure !
Any reply would be greatly appreciated !
Thanks in advance !
regards
Krishna
