HOW TO MEASURE THE ERODED MASS

Hello,
Thank you for the help always. I am modelling an impact loading of a bullet on a composite. How to I estimate mass of the eroded region of the composite in abaqus?

[FEA way]

Request EVOL output variable. Set your frame to the last one, with deleted elements. Use Create XY Data --> ODB field output, select Position: Whole Element and EVOL. Use the Pick from viewport selection method and select all the visible (remaining, not deleted) elements. Click Save As and choose sum. This way you will get the total final volume and you can compare it with the initial one. If you don't know the initial volume, you can use the same method on the undeformed part (increment 0) or query mass properties.
