Hello!

I am running an explicit simulation that applies torsion and internal pressure to a cylinder wall, which is modelled with shell elements (S4R). However, I am having trouble getting the transverse shear stress (TSHR, transverse shear stress for thick shells) when torsion is applied to the cylinder.

I've tried modifying the settings under sections in ABAQUS CAE: adding a thickness modulus, density, and transverse shear stiffnesses (K11, K12, K22). But I still can't get TSHR, transverse shear stress for thick shells, in my results.

Please advise, and thank you!

Check the warning messages they may mention the reason why this output is not available. Some hints may also be found in the documentation chapter "Three-Dimensional Conventional Shell Element Library" (paragraph "Transverse Shear Stress Estimates").
