How to open a socket with VBA using MSWINSCK.OCX

I have searched and can not find any examples of opening a socket in VBA. Lots of stuff with VB! And that at least got me as far as the Active X library MSWINSCK.OCX.

I am trying to open a socket in Excel VBA to talk to a piece of test equipment and log data.

Anybody have source code to share on this topic?
