Hello folks -
I was wondering if there is a simple/realistic/reliable way to access my NX4 data residing in TCe from home.
First a little background...
I have a very reliable 3 Mb DSL connection, and can connect to the company network via an SSL socket.
We have just deployed TCe 9.something, and our non-remote data resides on a server that is about 10 miles from my home.
In general, I would not be looking to work on large assy models - just want to be able to load a model/drawing file and putter a few hours per night when I get behind.
I'm thinking that rather than install TCe at home and connect to the live data vault, it might be better to export what I want to work on, bring it home on a flash card, then reimport it the next day.
Is there a safe/easy/reliable way to move data in and out of the vault? Is it unrealistic to expect to connect to the vault via a SSL connection on a 3 Mb line? Does NX automatically version any data that is exported/updated/imported?
Any suggestions or comments appreciated.
Disclaimer - I have used TCe for about 3 days now, so what I don't know about it would fill volumes.
Thanks for any help...
