Hello,

Does anybody know how to smooth the output variables in ANSYS/LS-DYNA.
I ran a drop test and got the acceleration of the gravity center, but the data contained a lot of noise, so I want to smooth the data. But I could not find any output variables in "Main Menu >TimeHist Postpro >Smooth Data". The smooth data only contained the parameters I defined previously in the preprocessor part.

I appreciate if any of you can help me with this.

Sincerely,

You will need to apply an appropriate filter to this data if you feel it contains "a lot of noise". Pretty sure ANSYS doesn't offer data filters and therefore you will need to export your data and do this in a 3rd party software. Check online for some free filter tools. If you have access to Matlab and the appropriate toolbox then filtering will be available here. If the data is very noisy check you have some appropriate form of damping in your model before you start filtering out "real" effects.

Hi Drej,
Thank you very much! I can use matlab to do it. You are right that I did not put any damping in my model, that might be the reason of the "noise".
Thanks again.
