We currently have a user who wants to know the following:

Hi everyone, does anybody know how I can make an associative copy of a part in catia v5R11? I need to copy a part to work without afecting the original, but to know when the original was modified.

Thanks in advance.

Hi..

You should use the option in Tools-->Options-->Part Infrastructure-->General --> Restrict external selection with link to published elements. Publish out the solid, then copy and paste as result with link into the new CATPart file.

Derek

You should also upgrade to a more current, legal copy of CATIA. V5R11 is more than 3 years old.
