How to ... swept protrusion

How would you go about creating a swept hook like the one shown in the link above.. (2800-A RH Towing Hook)... just the hook part is giving me problems... Is it possible???

Hi Tom,
Yes I would think you could get something like it, although it's difficult to see the exact form from their drawing and picture. I would start by creating a series of sketches defining the sweep path and the cross-secions at various points along it. The blue-surf command may be another way.

Beachcomber is correct. The only way to do compound swept geometry like that is with surfacing tools. You will need to find cross-sections at various locations in 2 planes and then sweep or loft a surface through them, using whatever guide curves are available.

Then you can turn the surface(s) into a solid.
