How to tell difference between single and multimode cable 2

I am definately not an expert in fiber cable so I thought I would present my question here?

I have an existing network connecting two switches by ST connected fiber. We are replacing our old switches which connect through SC connected fiber. I was going to get a coupler that would change the ST connector to an SC connector and use an ST/SC patch cable to the new switches. However, I am unsure as to whether we are using multimode or single mode fiber. Is there an easy way to identify the fiber type?

(Since the fiber cable run is just over 100 ft., I am guessing they used multimode since I read it was used for runs up to 2 Km. Just guessing though.)

Is this indoor cable? If so, multimode should have an orange jacket and single mode should have a yellow jacket. Additionally, the core size should be printed on the jacket. If it is 50um (micron) or 62.5um it is multimode and if it is 8um or 9um it is singlemode.

You may also see the number 125 on the jacket. This is the outside diameter of the cladding and the glass part of the fiber. It is the same for both multimode and singlemode.

You may also find similar printing on the jacket of the cable if it is outside plant cable, but the color of the jacketing will most likely be black.
