Hi,
I try to imagine how shoud the requirement pertaining to soak band in ASME Section I, PW-39.5.2 be understood: "The soak band shall be a circle whose radius is equal to the radius at the widest width of the width of the weld attaching the nozzle or attachment to the shell, plus the thickness ...?. I have the problem to get it right to my engineering notion. Any help welcome.

The soak band around the nozzle is a circle which includes every bit of the weld and extended by the smaller of head thickness or 2". Rozumiesz?
