Looking for typical inside and outside rads for rectangular hollow structural steel (4"x3") with 3/8" wall. Can anyone help out or point me in the right direction?

Jeez, thanks, that sure was helpful. I never thought of that (laced with sarcasm in case you didn't notice).

I said that because in less than a minute I found a whole table of rectangular HSS cross section dimensions.

The corner radii themselves aren't exact. They depend on the manufacturer. ASTM A500 limits the outside radius to no more than 3*thickness.

I found that on the first page of a Google search in less than 5 minutes. Don't be so snide next time. Our task here is to help each other, not "google" it for you.

I agree with UcfSE. If someone takes the time to respond to your question you should at least be courteous to the person. If you think the response is not helpful to you, please keep that opinion to yourself. We are all professionals here and it behooves us to act as such.

Thank you UcfSE for rising above the initial comment.

I respectfully don't understand your reasoning for referencing google on your first response. You can google ANY of the questions that anyone posts in ANY of these forums. Think about it. It's a pointless response. Your second response was a lot better.
Thanks. Sincerely.

You cannot google these posts typically. Some you can, yours is one of them. The reasoning is to let you know not to ask us to do something for you that you can fairly easily do yourself. No one has a problem helping anyone, but you should have helped yourself as much as possible.

At any rate, I'm glad the information helped.

Page 2-11 of the AISC HSS Connections Manual shows the nominal outside radius to be 2t. For your wall thickness of 0.349", this would be 0.698". Page 1-10 says the maximum outside radius is 3t.
