HSS T Connection at the End 7

Can anyone suggest a good design example for a T connection at the end of a HSS (chord, or column)? similar to the attached. I'm doing up an SMath program to accommodate it.

Thanks Ussuri... I'll take a look.

Tomorrow... I'll look into a yield line pattern setting l_end = 0. I'm a member of the STI and they have some excellent material, and it's relatively inexpensive to join. Their webinars are excellent.

RPGs detail is a good one, but with the seat being internal you can't use that on both ends of the HSS or you won't be able to install the HSS.

dik, with this being a moment connection you should check panel shear in the column. I can't imagine this is likely to control given that you have (2) column webs in this scenario and your flange forces would be limited by the limited effective width of the flange. But if you're automating this design it might be worth adding in.

Thanks...it's trickier! If you notch the bottom edge you can use a similar detail for little bearing supports (if you don't mind having it visible). Shear isn't close in this instance, but for a program, I'll check...

The following might be helpful. There's a tee connection example. It's not at the end of the column. However, it seems to me the bulk of the issues in the current discussion are at the bottom wall of the beam anyway.
