Hey Guys,
I'm doing a cantilevered steel column with a CMU partial height facade. I've reinforced the CMU vertically and with ties, but there's basically no gap between the HSS and CMU. Would you guys worry about the deflection affecting the CMU facade? It's only deflection from wind. I'm thinking of potentially putting the steel column on top of the CMU facade with a plate and anchor system and using the CMU to take the wind to the foundation, but wondering if that's really necessary or not since the facade isn't structural.
Thank you!
