Hurricane-Prone Zones

Hi all,

what are the requirements for buildings in Hurricane-prone zones? Glazed openings needs to be protected per ASCE 7-10 section 26.10.

Are there any other structural requirements?

ah, seems like high wind speed requirements would apply. seems like a vague question.

High wind speed requirements? The structure will be designed for higher of ACSE code wind speed or local code wind speed. I am trying to figure out if there are any other special requirements for structure design in hurricane zone. Vult = 122mph

ASCE code just points out to Section 26.10 for glazed windows.
