What effects will I get by a -10 adapter from danfoss valve through -10 hose to -12 adapter to -12 hose then to a -08 hose to a -08 adapter in cylinder.

A lot depends on the ID in those elements. And of course flow rate/ velocity.

Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.

And length of hoses and temperature and fluid properties.

thanks for the help....the flow is 30gpm pressure is 2500psi -10 hoses are 8 ft -12 hoses are 7ft then down t0 -08 hose at 7ft on both the extend and retract sides of cylinder -08 hose is half inch -12 hose is 3/4 not sure on -10 hose

-10 is 5/8".

30 gpm is too high for -08 hose, IMHO.
If it is possible change -08 hose to at least -10 hose.

Typically - a small rise in hose temperature, a tiny increase in power consumption, maybe a tiny decrease in speed. If you aren't on the ragged edge of performance it should be fine. The more adapters and the more irregularities in the flow the more turbulence and losses and losses produce heat.

If you look on the Gates site they have a hose pressure-loss estimator that includes typical fittings.
I found it useful and it matched the really bad results that some poor choices had produced in a design I was trying to fix. Turns out, using really small return lines is a spectacularly bad idea. I don't expect it to be perfect, but certainly ball-park.

Single-ended cylinder: cap end flow could be 2x rod-end flow. A full length of -12 or -16 would then make more sense on the cap end.

awesome...thanks dave and ted....I can dial down the flow a touch...keep an eye on temp

Are all these hoses and fittings in series?
What are the cylinder diameter dimensions of the piston and the rod?
If more than one cylinder actuator, are they operated one by one individual or several of them simultaneously?
Is this a fixed displacement pump or a variable displacement constant pressure pump?
Are you using "bang-bang" directional valves or proportional throttling valves?
