Have a 5k psi rated hydraulic pump and someone wants to put an SMC compact hydraulic cylinder on this circuit that is only rated for proof pressure at 3480.
Process pressure is only 1800 psi
Can I use a PRV and set it at 2000 PSI?
How do I know if the PRV is safety rated to protect the cylinder from a potential 5k psi event?
What standard governs this?
How should the PRV be stamped and approved for this type of use?
Thank you
