Hi,
I have been searching for information on Hydraulic Solenoid Control Valves that operate on 5 volts. I have not been able to find anything. 12 volt is quite common though.

I am working on a project that utilizes an Arduino Control board, and want to trigger the valve directly from it, as apposed to controlling a 5 volt relay.

If anyone knows of such a valve please let me know.

Cheers,
TT

You're going to struggle. Wherever I've worked with TTL that's driving solenoid valves, there's been a relay in between and a separate supply (commonly 24V or 110V) for the solenoid. Why? There's a limit to the current you can pull from an Arduino I/O pin (40 mA, if my memory serves me correctly), while a 12V DCV typically draws 2-3 Amps.

Ok, Thanks for the response. Wasn't sure if a 5 volt even existed.

Cheers,
