We are planning on using a hydrocyclone to remove larger particulate from an ocean water feed, prior to entry into sand filter beds to remove finer particles and silt.
My question is, how much of the inlet water to the hydrocyclone can be expected to be washed away with the particulate?
Clean water outlet flow required is 1100 gpm. I don't have very good data on the solids loading of the inlet water, though. Any guidelines or experience out there?
Thanks.
