As I was searching through the different treads of this forum, I found some good info regarding the bake-out, but there was not much discussion on the practices. I would like your opinion and advice on the bake-out temperature and time. So far the mnost common are the temperatures between 200°C and 400°C, but someone went as far as to recommend the stress relieving temparature. I would also like some advice on what codes or scientific articles could be helpful in establishing and justifying this requirement.

Hydrogen bake out is specified for hard steels (~43 HRC) susceptible to embrittlement.
The specified temperature should not exceed that of tempering (otherwise a reduction of hardness will ensue).
