Hi,

This is my first post in this forum :)

I am using Hysys, and want to know the flowrate (in boths actual and standard condition volumetric flowrate) of one specific component (nitrogen) in a stream. I already have the stream fully defined. Does anyone know how i can extract this data from the stream?

have you a regular licence ? Read the manual or ask the support....
I use a different software (Winsim, and never found that kinda of problem...

you can choose "basis" when viewing the composition page.

This is pretty basic - maybe you should take a course?

Best regards

extract that componet from the stream into a new stream.

Thanks dcasto. I used a component splitter to extract N2 from the stream, and found the flow rate.

I think it would have been quicker to change the basis to mol flow and convert that to standard flow - but the other way may have been more fun.

Best regards

Morten,

The method you described would be quicker, but I couldnt find a compressibility chart for the gasses on the web. Is it possible to get a compressibility chart from Hysys for a range of pressure/temperatures in a easy way?

I would be surprised if a high-end simulator wouldn't include that possibility, I do print these tables in Excel with low cost or free tools as Refprop ( and Properties ( possibly it's just a matter to read the operating manual or pheraps you may consider the mentioned tools.
